#41 3-Pointer Takes Out The Administration!

Massachusetts took a major step and elected #41, Scott Brown to replace the vacant seat held for almost 47 years by Ted Kennedy. With their vote the people of Massachusetts gave control of the White House back to the people. Ever since Barack Obama went to Washington he, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi seem to think they were given the right to do whatever they wished.

Obama's coat tails seem to be quite frayed lately since he was unable to save the gubernatorial elections for Democrats in both Virginia and New Jersey. The latest buzz in the halls of Congress is "Jump ship now.........Obama can't help you!"

If this wasn't enough of a wake-up call for Obama and the Democrats, who have been governing like a dictatorship by excluding the Republicans, then the voters will send an even stronger message come November. They didn't send Obama to Washington to cut back door deals like Reid and Company are doing after he campaigned on transparency.

It seems like all he talks about lately is "I'm ready to take on the fight". He said this when he thought his health care plan was a done deal and he would be busy campaigning on behalf of the Democrats who were expected to get hit hard on the election trail and again today when he talked about the big bankers paying out huge bonuses. He reminds me of a kid I grew up with that was always ready to take on a fight until he got his ass kicked really bad. I guess Obama will need that type of ass-kicking in November, then he won't be so anxious to 'take on the fight' for his remaining two years when it's not what the voters want.

He spoke today about how it shouldn't take a fifty pound application for a small business owner to apply for funding, yet his health care bill is well over four reams of paper. With all of the side deal amendment's with Democratic Senators and the Unions, it may actually be close to fifty pounds!

Workplace Politics, How Do You Play The Game?

Everybody is familiar with politics at work, the unfair prejudices that exist at the office. Many see it as a power outside of our range of control and that at times we must submit to this power.

With the politics at work, here are a few examples. Politics at work usually isn't the type of prejudice that gets people sued, it's people getting promotions based on whom they know rather than on what they do. Does this sound familiar?

In your mind's eye see yourself employed for six months and then gunning for a new open spot within the company. This is a position you are one hundred percent qualified for so you turn your resume into the HR department. With the department manager you can get a surprise interview. Even though every other applicants shares your skill sets you feel you nailed the interview. Office politics can sometimes override your chance of being hired. Those that share the same passions or viewpoints as your boss may be picked over you. This hurts bad.

What is one to do knowing that politics is widely at work in the world? You have two choices in my experience. You have to play the office politics game if you want to win. Don't fight the idea instead embrace and enjoy it. For most people, it is hard to do something you don't like. And it can be emotionally draining pretending to like someone you don't.

Alternately, you could be so good at your job that the company cannot afford to lose you. This demands nearly the same effort as faking company/co-worker relationships with supervisors. Doing one of the two is the only way to respond to politics at work.

I advise the second, performing your job so well that politics at work can't impact you. You obtain so much influence at the office that you can influence outcomes, regardless of what others say. The aspect could to your surprise lead you to your goal.

Determining if you want to play the game, is an important task of making politics at work. In order to achieve success in the realm of business, you need to partake of the game of politics at work. You will be able to determine which path to follow. Results always override office politics.

What Ever Happened To Dignity: The Itching Of America

Depending on who is breaking down the list the news is reporting between 30 and 50 distinctive sexual behaviors that are to be protected under the newly proposed Hate Crimes Bill H.R. 1913. Have we gone from the moral majority to the immoral majority all in about a mere thirty years? What Happened?

One of the definitions for prurient is an itching which is to say that anyone who is constantly aroused by some new and shifting sexual interest has got an itch. As a nation it would seem that our enemy has flown over undetected at some extreme altitude and sprinkled the country with a strong dose of the proverbial itching powder.

The first question that begs to be answered is not what is on the list but why the Congress is even looking at it. Does arriving at super power status automatically give us the free time and clear path to get down into the finer details of our nationhood that we may have never had time for before? Is there finally a chance to elevate those specifics that heretofore were suppressed by world wars, the democracy experiment and holding ourselves up as an example to the rest of the world?

Do we now have explicit permission from the priests of science who assures us that we have come from pools of mud and are now on the brink of wandering among the stars to just cover the health risks with condoms, pills, and precautions and then sail into the nearly endless realms of prurient interests with a vengeance?

With the ever increasing evidence coming from creation scientists that refute the evolutionary model and the prominently missing links between primates and humans have the evolutionist resorted to PC instead of science to bolster their wobbly conclusions. Shouldnt someone tell them that if and when humans choose to act like monkeys it is not immutable proof that we are their descendants?

Have we sufficiently belittled, dismissed and castigated the preachers, prophets, sages and wise men who have nagged us for centuries with warnings of judgment and Gods displeasure with our laxity. Looks that way doesnt it? Ask the Congress, they should know. What a brave new world our lawmakers have envisioned for us. Imagine a world where at last the exhibitionist can bring the mom who slapped him on the face for exposing himself to her kids to court under the shiny new hate crimes legislation.

Using tongue in cheek to make a point is fine but the grueling reality is that this nonsense is passing itself off as a necessity among the governed. The Middle East is a powder keg, Iran and North Korea are racing each other for nuclear pre-eminence while in the wings anti-American sentiments are raging in Central and South America, doesnt it seem we got to this belayed matter of sexual diversification just in a nick of time?

Maybe America is no longer hearing or even entertaining the call to collective or personal holiness but what about common dignity, has that also seen its better day?

Oddly the call to holiness has never ceased but interestingly the easier to understand version of holiness is connoted in the Greek dignita which is our English word, dignity. We could perhaps lay aside the more religious terms like sanctified, separated, and holy but can we really afford to cast aside all dignity as a nation?

We were told that prior to her husbands victory in the 2008 election that our First Lady was not proud of America and we were shown after Barack Obama toured the world that he too could not see much dignity in his countrys past and purpose. Is there anyone out there who thinks this country is, was and can still be the noblest nation on earth?

As the GOP in America frantically searches for a strong leader and a new rallying cry someone should point out to them that the best course is one they already have shown to the world. It must be revitalized and be made to stand up again. Definitions aside and simply put that purpose was to foster and defend the dignity of this nation as it sought to do what was right and equitable at home and abroad. To be ashamed of past nobilities is cowardice and dissimulation and does not deserve consideration among patriots.

Often the prophets of old were sent to bolster and encourage those who still practiced righteousness in the land and not just to pronounce judgment and warning. Such an admonishment came from the Prophet Isaiah who said Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. (Isa 35:3) This rallying cry is more of what the GOP needs than a new leader. If what you really stand for was worth a plug than stand up and get on with it. That goes for proud Independents and the few Democrats that havent thrown all dignity to the wind as well.

The polls have indicated that among the Christians there is a full apostasy underway. That too is merely the abandonment of dignity. It was reported recently that in an address made by the troubled Miss California at Liberty University that the males cheered and whistled at the mention of her swimsuit pictures. Jerry Falwell may be turning in his grave but even worse the embarrassing nature of this outburst is anything but dignified much less Christian.

The apostasy is part of prophecy and prophecy is pre-written history so the falling away is a foregone but it too is not a necessity. Those who choose to stand instead of backsliding are the dignified and are not social geeks or misfits. Some kinds of pride are wrong but this kind of pride is healthy, productive and powerful. Found in Conservatives, Christians the GOP or any American of any persuasion it is the very salt of the earth.

It has been over twenty centuries since Christ left the earth with a warning that he would one day return in power to pick up the pieces and see just how well we had done. Less than three decades after he ascended Christ came and spoke to the Apostle John on the Island of Patmos. He spoke to the seven churches around Asia and Asia Minor and out of the seven Churches five were rebuked for their fall into idolatry and promiscuity, one received almost a neutral response and one and one alone was commended.

It is the Church of Sardis that seems the most like the American church and the American political body at this juncture in time. It had a name, Christ said, but it took its name a little too seriously and became lax and tolerant of all the prurient interests of the surrounding peoples and was adversely influenced by them. Christ told them to can the nonsense and strengthen the things which remain, Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: (Rev 3:2)

Most observers of prophecy today are more convinced that American politics, churches and society in general are more like the Laodicean Church in the book of Revelation. This is an argument that is fast becoming hard to refute. Lets see.

Christ told the Church Laodicea I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: (Rev 3:15-17)

The words dignity, separateness, holiness and sanctified all have one thing in common regardless of their etymology. These words speak of one or a collective body that stands apart and that is what gives them what we call dignity.

Standing apart may at times also means standing alone. In this day of adherence to all that is politically correct standing alone is severely frowned upon. Conversely it is standing alone that gives dignity to the standee. The choice is ours to make and we can only hope that we will make the choice that in times past was what made America and Americans great.

Negative Campaigning - What Does America Want?

In this presidential election year of 2008, the stakes regarding victory or defeat for each candidate are high; the competition for votes is fierce; and the strategies are abundant on both sides with which to win over the undecided. We, the public, see things happening as part of political life and of campaigning that we do not approve of, that we feel we can do without. But can we? Is negative campaigning something that is being foisted on an unwilling public, or does it correspond to the state of mind and consciousness that we are in?

Democracy is not simple. It is complex. And it is not easy. It is hard. It demands from us all that we have to give, and asks us, at the very least, to become responsible citizens who maintain an involvement with both the principles and policies that govern us.

Democracy asks us to not abandon our individual or collective awareness and voice - not for ourselves, and not on behalf of those whose voices have become diminished or who no longer feel they have a voice. It asks us to use this voice and this awareness not to shout, but to speak for the truth as we see it, to reflect upon this truth, and to offer it up as we speak, and vote, and as we take a stand for what we believe in. In this way, we create and ensure a government that represents the best interests of the governed.

All this is the ideal that democracy strives for. And yet it is not what we see in practice. Not by a long shot. Instead of widespread citizen involvement of a judicious and thoughtful kind, we often see anger, fear, projection, and sometimes fanaticism. Instead of voting with conscientiousness, employing our capacity to reflect, compare, and analyze, we often vote with our emotions or the emotions that are being activated within us in the course of a campaign.

We cannot be manipulated by emotions, whether presented by candidates, campaign ads, news media, or television personalities if we do not allow ourselves to be. We cannot be reduced to less than what we are capable of unless we allow ourselves to be. And yet, this is often what we do. We take the easier way rather than the harder. We let an external shaping of opinion such as that of negative campaigning define our emotions and create our state of feeling. We begin to identify with the innuendo, accusation, and fear-currents that surround us, so that we lose sight of what is true in favor of what sounds true while not begin so. We come to believe that the feelings that we have are natural and inevitable, even when they come from portrayals and strategies that mix half-truths with truth. In many cases, we have difficulty maintaining the 'high ground' of forming our own opinions, when the 'low ground' of negative campaigning, advertising, and criticism is so prevalent.

No, democracy is not easy. It is much easier to feel and to operate out of instinct and unconscious emotion, than to think and evaluate with a consciousness of choice.

We, as a national consciousness, are offered negative advertising and campaigning because it feeds the lowest common denominator among us that forms the basis of our perceptions - that of unconscious reflex which seeks to avoid fear and danger and to seek safety and security. Such campaigning paints the world in terms of fearful outcomes that have to do with the 'other', and encourages us to choose between fear and not-fear when we determine who to vote for. We are reduced to a very basic, even primitive level of feeling - that of the desire for survival both physically and economically - and this fundamental level, because of its importance to our overall sense of wellbeing, drowns out other considerations that may paint the world in softer shades of gray.

To remedy this situation, we must become responsible citizens - responsible for the content of our own consciousness. And we must learn how to recognize information and perspective that comes to us riding on currents of fear, and information that comes to us in more objective terms. Our voice and our awareness are precious gifts that we hold with which to construct a life that supports us. We cannot afford to sacrifice these to the methods and modes of the time we are in, not if we wish to create a new kind of government that is truly accountable to each and every citizen.

The world is capable of changing if we are ready for change, and campaigns are ready to become something different in tone if we are ready for that as well. To achieve this end, we must wake up and learn to listen, to reflect, to become more confident in our ability to see what we see, and to know what we know. When each of us is able to make the choice for consciousness, becoming firmer in our own center of truth and judgment, then we shall finally be ready for a democracy that truly represents what America is meant to be, and we shall be able to share this gift with the rest of the world as well.

10 Tips for Successfully Raising Money in a Political Campaign

Since President Barack Obama's election victory, many people have been inspired to run for public office. One reason for this new found interest in politics is that candidate Obama overcame what is arguably the most difficult aspect of campaigning – fund-raising. Prior to Barack Obama's campaign, it was a widely accepted conclusion in political circles that a candidate could not raise enough money to be competitive from small donors. In addition, the prevailing wisdom was that in order to raise the big money needed to win elections, the candidate needed name recognition in order to reach large donors. Post Obama, the paradigm has shifted. We now know that with the right plan and message, anyone can run and win an election.

In this article, I will provide you with a basic foundation for raising money in a political campaign. These tips will help you get your campaign started and avoid the mistakes that most first time candidates make when they begin fund-raising.

1.Have a plan. You must design a fund-raising plan which includes identifiable goals and incremental benchmarks. Your fund-raising goals should be aligned with the overall dollar amount needed to fund your campaign. You can find an example of a fund-raising plan at my blog, www.spatterblog.com.

2.Raise money from your friends and family FIRST. The money you receive from your friends and family will be your seed money. You'll use it to cover essential campaign start up costs during the infancy stage of your campaign.

3.Create a call-list. If you're running for office, you should have a mental list of people inside and outside your circle who you will be soliciting for campaign donations. Put that mental list on paper and have someone on your campaign staff add names to the list daily. A sample call list can be found at my blog, www.spatterblog.com

4.Always use a call sheet when calling potential donors. A call sheet is a template which allows you to input the donor's contribution history, talking points, and hopefully, contribution commitments. When calling a potential donor, you'll need to connect with the donor on an issue he or she cares about. The talking points section allows you to hit those points during the conversation. For example, if the donor cares deeply about animal rights, you will want to discuss your support for animal rights legislation during the call.

5.Follow-Up. If you recall from tip #4, the call sheet contains a space allocation for contribution commitments. If the donor makes a financial commitment over the phone, ask the donor whether he or she will be mailing a check or making an online payment. You should encourage the donor to make an online payment because it is quicker to process and you will have access to the money almost immediately. Whereas with a check, you will be forced to allow time for the check to clear your account. However, both payment options require that you make a follow-up call to the donor if you do not receive the promised contribution. I would allow two weeks for checks mailed from out of state, one week for checks mailed in state, and 3 days for online payments. You should set aside an hour each week to make reminder calls to your contributors if you chave not received the campaign contribution within the allotted time frame.

6.Be first. Early bird gets the worm where political fund raising is concerned. You must be the one to make the first initial contact with your donors, not your opponent. Compile your contact list before you even announce your campaign and hit the ground running.

7.Don't be shy. Many candidates are too proud to ask for campaign contributions over, and over, and over. However, there is really no way around it.

8.Tell People what their money is being used to buy. For example, if your campaign needs 1000 yard signs, ask a donor to commit to purchasing 25 yard signs for a $250 contribution. If donors know where their money is going, they're more likely to give.

9.Get the big endorsements early. Everyone loves a winner and everyone loves to help a winner. The more big endorsements you have, the more you look like the winner and the easier it is for you to raise money. So make sure you go after editorial, organization, and individual endorsements early in your campaign so as not to allow your competition to gain momentum.

10.Make the calls yourself. No matter how old or rich you are, it still makes you feel important to hear from the candidate directly as opposed to a member of his or her staff. So set aside time each week to make fund-raising calls in person. Don't just pawn it off to your staff.

American Dreams Sold to India

The change which Mr. Obama is always talking about is not visible to me till now. But it looks very discouraging specially for native Americans to see that USA has begun to look towards other emerging forces to give some support to its limping economy. The present inclination towards India is a visible example. America is now beginning to show the signs of failure as it is holding hands of India and Israel just to pull itself on the track again. But the result of this trust is far devastating than expected. The stimulus plans are not working well for native Americans, all because of the reason that these native Americans are not being benefited by it, they are already the biggest losers in this drama. Today, Indians and Israelis haven't lost any major jobs but ironically all new recruitments are mostly done from India and Israel. Thus it is an alarming situation which people of America would realize after sometime. Those native Americans who were dramatically laid off are not called back, instead, cheaper Indian workers and professionals are hired and the pace of this recruitment is alarmingly fast. Many American firms are either purposely recruiting Indian workers or they are moving their head quarters and business offices there. This trend is making USA barren for jobs for the poor natives.

The above links are eye opening and mind blowing. This is more than a nightmare and most importantly Native Americans are being hanged on naked wire in this situation. What I believe is that, the Change which Obama was screaming is the one we see now. No jobs in America but more jobs for India and China!! What a Change. Native Americans, especially black Americans are subjected to enormous economic pressure due to this situation. One cannot understand why USA is not concentrating on its own ailing economy and trying to appease India and their economy so religiously. The inside game is much cruel which will show its bitterness to people in the coming days. This matter is serious and needs strong consideration.

Presently Israel and India are at the top agenda of USA and the inclination is beyond understanding to many. But still there are many answers which are visible and clear. Israeli influence in US economy was quite immense until Indians joined hands with them. Now American business scenario is completely dominated by native Israelis and Indians. Slow but gradual creeping of this influence was facilitated by Israeli who already had strong connections in the state department and Government network in USA. Today Obama's administration has many Indians and most importantly they are influencing the decisions very wisely and keeping full understanding of Indian interest.

America is now seeing with full hope towards Israel and India and sees them as the force to pull the economy back on track. Promises were made and assurances were given to America but at what cost??? US signed a deal with India to support enhancing its nuclear capabilities for that many relaxations were given to this huge country. More importantly the shift of Job bank to India is also a very alarming signal. Further the inclusion of more Indian natives in US administration has been allowed and this is continuously increasing.

This situation is not clear to many native Americans who gave Mr. Obama votes with high expectations. Mr. Obama's inability to take decisions puerly of American interest can be seen time and again when his declaration of pulling wars off in Iraq and Afghanistan have not been met. The Guantanamo's closure is still in hanging. The resolution of Palestine Issue is still in hung position. He also promised to resolve the Kashmir issue which has now been erased from his priority list. But above all, the promise to bring derailed economy back on track cannot be met as every month millions of jobs are lost and people are unsure how they would get them back??? But when they will come to know that their jobs were lost just to clear the entrance of Indians and Israelis, then they would see that as a nightmare.

The time will tell that for how long this nightmare would continue and when will Americans themselves be able to understand this game themselves.

Roland Burris Jumped Into a Shark Tank

Despite facing federal corruption charges, one thing Illinois Governor Rod Balgojevich has demonstrated is a profound skill in how to manipulate people and opportunities to create a smoke screen for personal and political survival.

When he tapped Roland Burris for the US Senate appointment, society was shocked at the brazenness of the move. However, people soon became more curious about the individual who would accept such a position despite the controversy and allegations surrounding the tainted senate seat Blagojevich had for the giving.

No doubt Roland Burris had a distinguished political record as Illinois State Attorney General up until 1995. However, he has not been directly involved in politics for the last thirteen years aside from unsuccessful campaign runs for City of Chicago Mayor and Democratic Governor nominee. He is currently the CEO of Burris & Lebed Consulting, LLC, which is a consulting firm providing services in public relations and governmental representation – a lobbyist.

However, you really have to question the level of common sense that Roland Burris would bring to this senate seat.

It stands to reason that anyone seeking a political office would engage in deal making with any individual who is currently under federal investigation. Relationships of these sorts represent political land mines and Burris willingly stepped on it for nothing other than what appears to be self gain – “I want to be a US Senator and I’ll do anything to get it.”

Burris had to know that if he did accept the position that he would become nothing short of a political pawn to satisfy Blago’s need to give the media something else to focus on other than his (Blagojevich) looming indictment. In so doing, Burris epitomizes the idea of a morally weak politician and will most likely follow the same path as that of Blagojevich and the like; embroiled in some future investigation for impropriety or corruption.

Whats more troubling is that Burris seems oblivious to the profuse amount of political toes he has managed to step on up until this point.

After the news of the appointment hit the street, Burris became as politically isolated as Blagojevich. Every single democrat in the Illinois assembly and US Senate was against the appointment. However, he turned a blind eye to his potential political allies and proceeded on his way to taking the senate seat. This alone will undoubtedly create a groud swell of resentment among his fellow democrats. The resentment will surface as a lack of support when and if he tries to accomplish anything in his political career.

Burris has already received the smack down from US Senate majority leader Harry Reid in refusing to initially seat Burris. However, despite this, Burris will eventually be seated for the simple fact that the law is the law and despite Blago’s looming conviction he is still the Governor empowered to appoint someone to the vacant US Senate seat. But, if you think Harry Reid among other senior democrats will forget being put in this awkward position – think again.

Once Roland Burris finally does take his seat in the US senate the reality of what happened will probably hit him pretty hard. The reality being, Blagojevich convincing him to take the position on the premise that he is jumping into a tank of friendly dolphins only to find out that they are sharks instead.

The Relationship Between Business and Politics

How powerful is politics in business? The connection between the two is often hard to explain, but somehow they are closely connected. Did you ever happen to lose a job or a promotion in favor of a person who hadn’t worked harder than you, or made more significant contributions that you? Was it that person’s character that got him/her the job, the fact that he/she knew everyone around there, or could it be that you simply did not understand the politics going on around that business?

When we hear the word ‘politics’, we naturally think of politicians, political parties, political strategies, and so forth. But have you ever considered the term ‘politics’ from a business point of view? When it comes to politics in business, the former means the difference between failure and success in the latter. And, more often than not, politics can define one’s personal career. You can enjoy benefits or suffer penalties as a result of the way politics influences every business. If you happen to be among the most appreciated employees, decisions may go your way, but if you are ‘invisible’ to your bosses or they have nothing but ill feelings for you, some penalties may be coming your way.

When it comes to business decisions or work environments, we often hear expressions such as ‘it was nothing but politics’ or ‘that place is very political’. What do these expressions mean? And how can you be part of the game, and know how to play your politics? When you have managed to build a strong relationship with your customers, you understand the business thoroughly, and you are respected throughout the organization, but your superiors still think that you’re not doing well enough, this could be a clear example of people using politics to drive their own personal agenda.

It’s only fair to say that there’s no business without politics, and that its level of sophistication depends on the size of the organization. It’s understandable that the complexity of politics is proportional with the size of the company, because, after all, politics means power, and the more players are involved in the game, the more there is at stake.

Like everywhere else, we can speak of bad politics and good politics in business. Good politics refer to building strong networks at all the levels of that company or organization, spending time with employees from all levels, having a solid understanding of the keys to the success of the organization, and so forth. Good politics in business is about sharing information and encouraging other people to do the same thing. Bad politics refers to exactly the opposite. In the end it all comes down to driving your own agenda, as mentioned before. However, deft leadership should not be confused with bad politics in business. The two are very different.

Unfortunately, it seems that bad politics has got its share of businesses, and we see more of that than of good politics, because there are more bad politicians than there are good, and the former still continue to make the rule. But, in the end, it is up to you how you play the game.

Politics: the Ugliest Fascination on Earth

No matter where you live, politics probably plays a part in your day to day life. You might not immediately deal with political issues, but you can be sure that politics plays a part in what you do! Whether it is office politics deciding who gets that raise you've been hoping for; city politics determining where you are allowed to park downtown; county politics dictating your quarterly property tax or even nationwide politics deciding how your schools are funded, politics plays a part in your daily life.

It is important then that you understand what politics really is. Politics, at its core, is defined by Wikipedia as the process by which groups of people make decisions. At its core, politics sounds quite simple. What makes it complicated are the individuals involved in making the decisions. Because human beings are not perfect, the political system is never going to be perfect. This is something that most people don’t understand about politics. You can put all of the pomp and circumstance into politics that you want, in the end; it is more about human beings getting their way than about the process itself.

It has been said quite often that politics is a dirty business. In the United States Congress, for example, politics has taken on an air of hatred and manipulation. Many citizens of the United States feel that they are left out of the process of politics and that their elected representatives are more interested in scoring personal points than in working toward the betterment of their states and districts. In the last few decades special interest groups have taken on an entirely new role and lobbyists have become particularly vilified.

This disillusion toward politics is nothing new. Plato—the famous Greek philosopher—believed that all political systems were corrupt at their cores and that societies leaders should be chosen from an elite group of individuals who were began leadership training at birth. Aristotle argued that man is inherently political and that personal and political ethics are often the same thing.

One of the most famous political philosophers, Machiavelli advised that leaders of politics be brutal and manipulative and do whatever they could to retain their power. Machiavelli is studied today and his work is considered to be one of the leading authorities on how to behave in politics. Is it any wonder then, that the political systems of so many nations look corrupt?

The heart of politics is good: it is how laws are made and how individuals are judged by the societies that surround them. Without politics, nobody would know what was allowed and what was not allowed when they left the house. Unfortunately, many people view politics as a way to get ahead or to gain some sort of power over the people they live and work with. It is because of these "bad eggs" that politics has become regarded as an evil and ugly business.

Dictatorship and Democracy

The Penguin Encyclopedia says 'dictatorship' as 'Government by absolute authority' - the term may correctly be used to describe rule by a group or class but is generally confined to circumstances in which absolute power is wielded by a single person, under the form of a republic. Also, authority similarly wielded by any coporate body or community.

There are three types of dictatorships namely:

(1) totalitarian dictatorship
(2) military dictatorship and
(3) autocratic dictatorship.

Communist and socialist nations use to practise the totalitarian dictatorship. Military dictatorship is practised by junta (group of army officers who have seized power by a coup d'`etat). A person fully controls the whole regime is known as autocratic dictatorship.

The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines 'democracy' as:

(1) government by the people;especially:rule of the majority
(2) a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections.

Is Affirmative Action Reverse Discrimination?

Claims of reverse discrimination have been around for a while; however, recent events have brought it back into the forefront. With the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the New Haven, CT white firefighters reverse discrimination case, the election of President Obama and the nomination of Sonia Sotomayo, the first Latina to be nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court, some are claiming white men are being discriminated against despite the fact that seven of the nine justices are white men. I recall seeing a photo of then Presidential candidate John Edwards on the cover of Esquire magazine, with the caption, “Can a White man still be President?” There have been 44 Presidents, 43 of them have been white men. I think it’s a sure bet that we will see at least one white man as President again. Instead of asking such a silly question, we should be asking ourselves why has there only been one non-white President and no women?

I recall reading a quote by Barry Switzer, “Some people are born on third base and go through life thinking they’ve hit a triple”. That profound statement truly sums up the essence of racial privilege and what it is to be white in the United States. It demonstrates that some people are given a head start while others have to work much harder to get to the same place. There is no denying every President had to work hard to earn the highest office in the land. However, President Obama had additional challenges to overcome due to his color.

To continue the baseball analogy, affirmative action is not about taking white players off the field. What it means is that they are no longer given the advantage of starting on third base but must take their turn in the batter’s box along with everyone else. It’s about creating a level playing field where everyone must earn their way on base and where everyone has a chance to step up to the plate.

There was a time in our history in which African-Americans were prohibited from competing in Major League Baseball and were relegated to the separate but unequal Negro League. In 1947, Brooklyn Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey, motivated both by the ideal of racial equality and the desire to win ballgames, added a black player to his team. The player was the legendary Jackie Robinson. In doing so, the pair ended the baseball color line of the sixty-year era of segregation. Branch Rickey wanted the most talented ball players and was smart enough to know that some of the best players were not white.

Today, there are many Jackie Robinsons so to speak, who deserve a chance to demonstrate their exceptional skills and talents. Affirmative action is not a perfect solution, but does provide the best opportunity for people of all backgrounds to be given the chance to compete.

At times affirmative action policy is not implemented to its true intent. There are white people who are passed over for positions they deserved. They have every right to be upset at the injustice.

Yet for every one of those instances where a white person falls prey to discrimination, there are ten times the numbers of People of Color who experience such discrimination.

This is how I make sense of claims of reverse discrimination. For simplicity, the black team represents all People of Color.

America’s Favorite Pastime

White vs. Black

The white team is allowed to field three times the numbers of players than the black team.

Instead of three outs, the white team gets six outs.

The umpires are employed by the white team and use to be members of the white team.

All the games are played at the white team’s home stadium where they are cheered and supported while the black team is booed and taunted.

The white team has all of the latest and greatest equipment while the black team has to settle for the white teams discards.

The white team grew up playing baseball in organized leagues and attending private baseball camps.

All of the previous 43 commissioners of baseball have been from the white team. Now the first black commissioner is attempting to appoint a black umpire. Yet the white team is claiming it is unfair.

Discrimination is discrimination not matter which direction it is pointed. However, it would appear that the only time many whites condemn such behavior is when the bus is backing up on them.

Racism in America still results in a disproportionate number of white people getting on base because they were walked while many people of color were hit by a pitch. The end result is the same, but one is much more painful.

Iranian Dictatorial Theocracy Restored

For the better part of ten days after the fake election, the world saw demonstrations in Iran that were totally unthinkable. The masses were coming into the streets and shouting their displeasure over the election and the attitude of their theological leaders. How can this happen in such a dictatorial and repressive environment, the world wondered. But alas, the powers that be put the clamps down!

The crowds were punished, people were beaten, and others such as NEDA were killed.

State Department officials monitoring events in Iran from Dubai have relayed back to Washington that Mousavi's Web site "Kalemah," his last link to the outside world, is completely shut down. They also noted reports on Iranian Web sites alleging that jailed Mousavi supporters have been tortured in an attempt to force them into TV "confessions" of a foreign-led plot against the Islamic regime.

All that is getting out (news-wise) now is what Twitter can produce! :-(

A newspaper with strong ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps has published a letter calling on Iran's Justice Minister to prosecute Nobel laureate Shirin Ebadi for allegedly violating Islamic and constitutional law through her human rights advocacy. Whatever the Iranian pro-democracy crowd lost, the world gained as insight into the repressiveness of the Iranian model.

Iranian media are reporting that ten percent of the ballot boxes will be recounted in the presence of the Guardian Council's post-election committee and media, with the findings released to the public. The U.S. officials in Dubai noted that former candidate Rezai's newspaper reports Karroubi has agreed to cooperate with the committee, while Mousavi has already rejected the Guardian Council's review and demanded a complete recount.

Mousavi's life is forever been altered and probably greatly reduced in tenure. How long can he stay alive?

Neda remains the clarion call until the day Mousavi takes her place.

Nuclear Power and Iran Today

Why should Iran not be trusted with Nuclear power, which may lead to nuclear weapons? Is Iran breaking the NPT in any way?

The U.S. Government defines its areas of objectionable Iranian behavior as the following:

--Iranian efforts to acquire nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction;
--Its support for and involvement in international terrorism;
--Its support for violent opposition to the Middle East peace process; and
--Its dismal human rights record.

In other words, Iran has not demonstrated itself to be a responsible international player, and certainly not one to be trusted with nuclear power.

On the second point: "In some ways, the challenge Iran poses to the nuclear nonproliferation regime is even more daunting. Although the evidence - including Iran almost 20 years of hiding all its nuclear fuel cycle efforts - clearly indicates a weapons program, it continues to argue that its program is exclusively for peaceful purposes. On September 24, the IAEA Board of Governors found that Iran violated its safeguards obligations. This finding requires a report to the United Nations Security Council. The Security Council will not replace the IAEA effort, but reinforce it - for example, by calling on Iran to cooperate with the IAEA, and giving the IAEA new, needed authority to investigate all Iranian weaponization efforts. We continue to work with other IAEA Board members on the timing and content of the report of Iranian noncompliance to the Security Council. We also continue to support the efforts of the United Kingdom, France and Germany - the EU-3 - to bring Iran back to the negotiations."

The operative wording here is: "The IAEA Board of Governors found that Iran violated its safeguards obligations." Certainly, the evidence suggests Tehran is in violation of the NPT.

Will the US Military do something about the nuclear weapon in Iran? The following selected commentary from the Center for International and Strategic Studies: Diplomatic or economic penalties by the U.N. that reinforce the idea that Iran's sovereignty or rights are being challenged, however, are likely to backfire. The result of such measures would likely be increased support for the unpopular regime in Tehran. The only possible exception might be targeting leaders in Tehran for direct penalties such as travel bans, economic sanctions, including money and property outside of Tehran, and even restrictions on the ability of their family members to travel or attend western schools. These might have some value in making the decision makers in Iran feel the affects of their actions, but are not necessarily enough to convince them to change their nuclear behavior.

In the end, however, the United States and its allies must also think of what alternatives they are willing to provide to Tehran should it decide to change course. While not a democracy, Iran is still a highly political country and any viable solution to the standoff must include some way for decision makers in Iran to justify their decision publicly. To be sure, it would be preferred if the United States could find a solution that would both end Iran's nuclear ambitions and weaken the regime, but such a compromise is unlikely to emerge unless the international landscape changes significantly. Offering Iran the ability to benefit from other forms of nuclear technology including the possible sale by Russia of additional nuclear power plants might end up being an important part of any political compromise.

On the military side, the chances of a U.S. strike against Iran soon are probably unlikely. Reasons include the fact that the U.S. military is already stretched thin, the virtual certitude that much of Iran's secret nuclear program would not be detected and destroyed, the likelihood that a military attack would turn a pro-U.S. Iranian population against us and toward the regime, and the negative reactions likely to come from the international community.

Experts are now talking about "containment" of Iran along the lines of our containment of the Soviet Union during the Cold War. While not ideal and also protracted, such a policy may be our only recourse for the foreseeable future.

India and Pakistan are Real Brothers

It is on record that both India and Pakistan are not separate, but both are brothers and these two countries have taken their birth out of one country Hindustan. Who separated them in 1947 that is a question, which should be left to history and we should not probe into this question. History has taken its shape and now two countries have become a permanent reality and there are no chances that these two countries may unite one again.

But still it is on record that all the people of Hindustan had been fighting their war of independence together and all made sacrifices. It is a tragedy that both these brothers parted in 1947 and in this partition they killed lakhs of their people and forced millions of people to migrate and settle at unknown places. Such event had never happened in history, but it happened in Hindustan and two brothers started with new establishments.

It is on record that there had been certain disputes and it is also on record that these two brothers had been fighting directly and indirectly and both had been killing their own people and they wasted much of their time, energy, resources and manpower on futile exercises. Therefore, time has come when they should realize their past follies and they must start living as real brothers once again. We should forget the past and must see that henceforth we would not fight either directly or in directly. We shall live in peace and if need be we should sign a no war pact and must ensure peace for the coming generations.

We must identify our natural resources and we must see that those are utilized in the best way. We may share our resources, if need be and while joining in this process, we can take with us Nepal, Burma, Sri Lanka, Bangla Desh or the like and we must see that we also bring our people in the line of progressive countries. We should ensure that all the people shall be given proper education, proper training and proper adjustment at work so that each one shall be an earning hand and shall not be dependant upon others and even governments may be looking after other development works. No one should live on charity and no one should be allowed to follow fundamentalism. All must join in campaign of secularism, nationality and no discrimination with others on the basis of religion and caste. Religious toleration should be our main target.

The people of India and Pakistan understand that only one way is there and that is that we both should act like real brothers with each other and no other relations should be there.

Problems in the USA

Introduction – What we are going to do here is look at a number of problems facing the USA. This article will be cynical. The idea is we are trying to illustrate the massive amount of problems they are facing so you can act accordingly.

Banks – Bank failures keep coming. People have become so conditioned to them they hardly pay attention anymore. The USA has had 29 bank failures this year so far.

Homes and Mortgages - One in every 159 USA homes received a foreclosure notice JUST in the first quarter of 2009. Shocking. There were over 800,000 foreclosures in the first quarter of 2009. March 2009 foreclosures were 46% higher than they were a year earlier. In Nevada during the first quarter of 2009 one in every 27 homes received a foreclosure notices.

Jobs Lost – Two million more jobs lost in 2009. In March alone 663,000 jobs lost. In the last 16 months 5.1 million jobs were lost, two thirds of those in the last five months. The government admits to 13 million unemployed. They tend to not count those whose unemployment benefits have run out and are still not working, those who gave up looking, and those who took part time work and those who retired early. The real figure is probably closer to 20 million or more. Obama is creating non-productive jobs in the public sector, government jobs. The private sector jobs are rapidly going away. Government jobs do not build an economy; they do not even sustain one. The real jobs are gone.

Police State – The constitution is basically being ignored by those working in the various governments that have taken an oath to enforce it. People have no rights any more. Courts no longer appoint a lawyer to those who cannot afford one. They ask the people to fill out an affidavit attesting to finances and sometimes they appoint one, sometimes not and in that case the judge is supposed to protect the rights of the defendant. Not kidding here, it is true.

The first conflict of interest is the judge is paid by the government. How is he supposed to favor a defendant against his employer? The system is flawed and now it is coming into its fullness. Now there are checkpoints inside the USA run by border patrol up to 100 miles inside the USA. Soon these checkpoints will be applied when you cross state lines and the no fly list will be enforced on people driving across state lines. The “border” checkpoints are applied to people traveling within the USA. Police search with impunity anything or anyone they want. All records Internet, bank, phone, etc are open to the government at all times.

The police have taken to using tasers on people who are reluctant to obey their verbal commands. These tasers are never used if the officer thinks his life is in jeopardy, for this they have guns. These devices are used to condition the public to blindly obey the police and rapidly with no questioning tolerated at all, zero tolerance. Tasers don’t save life; they actually kill a large amount of people each year yet they are being used (abused) by more and more police departments each month.

Crime – Crime is on the rise in the USA. Frauds are way up. One in every 31 adults is in the criminal justice system in the USA. This is the highest in the world and the true test of a police state. The streets are not safe. The people do not feel safe in their homes. Home alarm systems sales are soaring. People are buying firearms in record numbers. This year alone 1.5 billion rounds of personal ammunition were sold in the USA.

Who do you think the people are interested in protecting themselves against? Two groups – the criminals and their government. When the people feel this way as evidenced by the gun sales no government can continue. In the face of this Obama wants to push for more gun control. When the people are happy, content, the economy is good, the crime rate is low the governments never go off on a gun control campaign. The government is afraid of the people and the people are afraid of the government. This is a state that can only exist temporarily. Either the people get their freedom back through a constitutional government, secession or the government wins and the people will lose even more rights than they have now. Like what you might say.

The freedom to live where they want inside the USA, freedom of choices in healthcare, freedom to travel, freedom to communicate freely, freedom to have an uncensored internet, freedom to travel outside the country, freedom to have a convertible currency, freedom to own gold, and many other freedoms can be removed. What do you think it would take to get the government to go back to a constitutional government? Good question.

Intrinsically Flawed Political Practices – The USA was a republic. One could not vote unless one owned land. One could be free but not vote unless they owned some land. Why? The founding fathers said if we do not take this measure those with nothing would eventually vote in politicians to take our wealth from us and distribute it to them for nothing, no fair exchange of labor for funds. And what happened.

Obama is creating more public sector jobs while he is losing private sector jobs and no country can ever survive like this. The concept of corporate welfare seemed to have escaped the founding fathers but they did severely limit the government from taxing them. They also laid out rules for a gold and silver coined monetary supply to prevent the banks from owning everything they have. The government did away with this in 1913 with the Federal Reserve Act (many say this was an illegal act not correctly ratified by 2/3 of the states) and look what happened. The banks own everything and they ruined the country.

The politicians have a goal, which is to get elected and then reelected. They lie, cheat, steal, deceive and this is referred to as broken campaign promises. They get the poor people to vote for them through handouts. They get the wealthy corporations to support them through favorable laws, corporate welfare, contracts and other methods your mainstream media is never going to talk about because they are owned by these corporations. So they give out handouts for votes. Taxes go up. They print money like crazy that is worthless. The debt soars. They stifle business. New businesses do not start. Old businesses fail. Then they wind up where they are today printing more money to get votes. Problem is they have destroyed the core of the real businesses. The politicians would rather get reelected by destroying the economy instead of acting responsibly and losing the election. There are no fundamental changes coming from the politicians thus no end in sight until it collapses. It has to fail.

The Federal Reserve System – This is the core of the problem. The Federal Reserve System is a private bank owned by private owners who profit directly from this abomination created in 1913 at the same time the IRS was created which is just the collection arm of the Federal Reserve Bank. A brief explanation of this atrocity will explain why this is doomed to failure. The US Mint prints money for the Federal Reserve, which are called Federal Reserve notes but this only accounts for 3% of the money supply. The rest is computerized bookkeeping entries. Banks can loan out roughly 10 times what they have on deposit. They make money out of thin air. All the debts of the USA government, private companies and individual persons are owned by these private banks. It used to be that 20% of the tax dollars were used to pay the debt to this Federal Reserve, which winds up in the pockets of these private bankers controlling the Federal Reserve. With the recent increase in money supply this figure can go to 50% of the taxes collected. The Federal Reserve has never been audited, does not have to file a tax return and pays no taxes yet is a private corporation. Does Obama say hey lets go after the Federal Reserve and tax them to help the poor people? No he raises taxes instead. The Federal Reserve is a government-sanctioned tax haven for a select few of the elitists.

How Does the Federal Reserve Create the Damage – They buy $10,000 of US debt called treasury bills. The money the Federal Reserve uses to buy this debt is created out of thin air. They then loan this $10,000 to a bank and the bank has to pay the Federal Reserve the required fed funds interest rate. Banks refer to this as going to the fed window. The bank then loans this money to a borrower and is listed as an asset of the bank, the loan being the asset. Now the bank can make more loans using the ten times multiplier against this loan, which is listed as an asset in their flawed bookkeeping rules. This allows the banks to get interest on these loans.

More loans equals more assets and thus more loans. The more loans out there the more interest the Federal Reserve collects from the taxpayers and they call it things like national debt. It is basically impossible for the USA taxpayers to ever pay off the debt to the Federal Reserve. The banking system uses loans or debt as collateral instead of hard assets like silver and gold. This is why the constitution called for money to only be gold or silver coins so the government and the banks could not mess everything up. The Federal Reserve Bank has created slaves out of the people. How many people percentage wise in the USA understand the Federal Reserve. I would guess less than of 1%, probably closer to 1/4 of 1% best case. They do not teach this in the government run schools.

The sad thing is the money the Federal Reserve bankers got in their pockets has been used to buy buildings, land, houses, factories, airplanes, boats, cars, natural resources and governments. They converted these ill-gotten gains to hard assets that will always have value in any economic system. This is how they assure themselves the right to continue controlling things. They do know the Federal Reserve System has been milked dry and will fall apart. They do want to keep it running as long as they can. The Internet was their undoing. This is something they did not understand until it was too late. Now they are trying to pass laws to be able to shut the Internet off when they want to. There is encryption available on the Internet for voice, chat and email that they cannot break. This bothers them greatly.

What Happens If the States Quit the USA – This is brewing. The term is secession. The states are realizing that the federal government is going to take over if left unchecked. This is a threat to those in state government because they become irrelevant to the federal government. The states will be left to run the highways, sewers, bridges etc with no power, say or authority. They do not like this. They are all of a sudden sending warning signals to the federal government in the form of state bills affirming states rights and saying if the federal government over steps the powers granted to it in the constitution they will consider the federal government irrelevant, illegal and ignore them seceding from the union and forming a nation unto itself. This of course would mean voiding the Federal Reserve debt for their inhabitants.

The federal government is completely over stepping its rights and violating the rights of the states now and has been for years. The fear the states have is the federal government going to martial law and just basically telling the state governments they have become irrelevant, go home while they run everything. Obama is the right guy to have in the white house for this sort of movement. He is scared, confused, overwhelmed and bewildered; basically afraid to do anything except print money and play the I hope game. I hope I can keep it together long enough to get of this mess. Never happen, just a question of when it falls apart.

The problem is the other countries are not going to keep using the USD as a reserve currency forever. When they switch to something asset based then the US will have to buy those currency units with their low grade USD which is not asset based and the debt is ten times the USA assets. The USD will not buy many of these asset based units. This will result in hyperinflation. The USA will probably go to a more extreme police state since the standard of living will plummet to that of a third world nation fast. Think people not be able to afford hot water, air conditioning, cable TV, internet, cars, anything resembling adequate health care, beef, sea food, and even guns. Foreigners will move in to buy the cheap housing in the luxury areas that is still there. The women in the USA will be working as maids, men as gardeners, drivers, handymen, etc. Factories will popup and wages will be low, very low. People will learn to live on $100 a week. $200 a week will become low middle class and $2000 a month will be way up there. I am saying the today equivalent of the money value.

Remember housing prices are still in free fall so rents will be low. Some that have their home free and clear will keep it if they can pay the property taxes. When the cars fall apart they will not be able to afford new ones. When the currency goes to hyperinflation what is left of savings will be evaporated. Equity in houses will be greatly diminished if not completely gone. Stock market values will drop greatly. The USA labor force will be available for extremely cheap wages. USA laborers are a lot more educated and skilled that the workers found in most third world countries. That is the probable future for the USA if it does not break up into several nations. The people working for the government and on government support will not want the breakup because the handout is over for them if this happens. In this way Obama is smart in creating public sector jobs but this is only a tactic to delay the inevitable. If foreign countries will continue to treat the USD as a real currency and use it for their reserve currency in spite of how many times Obama increases the money supply, then the game works. And the chances of this are slim and none. You can only fool some of the people some of the time.

The Immigration Problem – The USA opened up the country to immigration during the 1960’s. They picked up 100,000,000 people legally and perhaps another 20,000,000 who are there illegally. These people came to the USA for a variety of reasons. Many of them came to exploit the USA. They paid as little in taxes as they could preferring to work off the books. They did a poor job of fitting in to mainstream America instead living in enclaves with each other from their respective countries. They did not grow up in America. Their children became dual nationals and spoke two or more languages and were multi-cultural. Their children were not really American; they were learning to exploit the system. Their children never went into the military and fought for the country. They were there to take and not give. Some of these people had it better in the USA but they viewed the USA as a sucker country to be exploited. The USA offered them free education, medical, welfare, disability, retirement and freedoms.

America used to be free a few decades ago. When people came to the USA in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s they came to work hard and have a better life. There were no handouts, no social programs. They were there to sweat and toil to have a free and better life. This was not the case with the immigrants coming in the last few decades. Sure some did believe in hard work and elevating themselves up the right way but the majority were there to exploit the system. These people eventually got the right to vote. What do they want from their politicians – a handout? Benefits, public sector jobs, the ability to use their mother tongue in the USA system etc. Eventually this too took its toll.

These new voters had little idea of what being an American was. This was not their land, their culture, their language, their race and often their religions were very foreign to the USA. They did not fit in and integrate. This further fed the desire to exploit the system. They asked what they could get out of the system as easily as possibly and had no interest in growing the country. They favored higher taxes for more handouts. They had little regard for the business community having not even a superficial appreciation for how a free economy functions. If there were no politicians offering these handouts for votes none of these people would ever be in the USA. There is no end in sight to this policy. They are talking about legitimatize the illegal aliens and getting them to be tax-paying voters. More handouts for votes. Problem is this has already gotten so far out of hand there is not more core businesses left to support these handouts. So what do they do? They keep printing money and make public sector jobs and these jobs pay taxes and this money goes to handouts. Does not work. They hit the brick wall. You can get into a recession by over spending but cannot spend your way out of one. End game has arrived.

What Should You Do – The first answer is to diversify your assets and do that outside of any police state. Hold several different currencies, gold, and real estate outside the USA. This only works if you do not get locked inside the USA. Judging by the way things are moving this will probably happen sooner than later. Leave now while you can. You can always come back later if it gets better.

State Secession - Pay attention to states secession. Many of you will want to run to any of the states that drop out of the union. Freedoms beyond your wildest dreams, constitutional governments, fair and honest courts, one language government, law and order, honest government, real money supply, minimal government, very low taxes, no red tape in government, no government handout programs, no handouts to foreign governments that are awful dictators, schools teaching the truth so this never happens again, etc. Such a government will cause businesses to thrive and prosper beyond your wildest dreams and fast too.

These states are going to restrict immigration. Montana will have no obligation to accept people from Texas or New York if they become their own nation. Smart people will be going now to the states getting ready to secede and get driver licenses, residencies now. Set up a few in the states most likely to drop out. Keep your money offshore and then when the states that have dropped out set up their money supply and banks then you can repatriate the money.

The USA as it was forty years ago will never ever return. The best hope is the states seceding from the union. There you can have a chance for a real free and prosperous life with some hard work. The people will remember the mess the USA became and take great pains to stop it from happening again. The people working in the public sector with jobs paying $90,000 a year in some cases that are just paper pushers will never want to leave what they have. For them it works. Well it won’t for long but they will never want to believe it will ever come to an end and they do not know enough to understand what is going on. These are bureaucrats that contribute nothing to anything. Those benefiting from the government handouts will not want anything to change.

The bottom line is the states leaving the union will not have these drains on their economy. What happens to these people is a good question. I expect the majority of them over time will realize it is time to get to work in a productive way or starve. I think some one who sat like a bump on a log in some government building pushing papers for 20 years with eight weeks vacation, 12 days sick leave, medical, dental, retirement, freedom from termination, no worries about how business is doing, and getting double or triple what their friends and neighbors make in a bad economy, well this person is always going to want to go back to the way things were. The problem with secession is the people in these states that benefit from the government programs and jobs do not want to leave the union, some states will at least attempt to leave and some probably will. Some states will probably group together and merge into new nations.

A lot of new immigrants will probably return to their home country or look elsewhere for a handout nation where the politicians sell handouts for votes. For secession Obama is the perfect President, could not ask for a better choice when it comes to breaking up the USA into individual nations. Let’s see what happens.

Montana has drawn a line in the sand with their new gun law. This allows companies in Montana to manufacture guns and sell them in Montana free of any federal controls. Guns are the thorn in the side of oppressive governments. Montana is hitting them where it hurts most to see what happens. Obama will more than likely do nothing not risking an encounter with Montana. Montana residents will grab a gun and enforce their rights and this attitude is not something Obama wants to tangle with. More states will follow suit with gun laws and other laws. Eventually they will get around to sacred cow tipping like taxes, coining their own money, setting up their own banks immune form the fed, restricting federal powers in their state etc. Georgia in a bill they passed said the federal government only has the right under the constitution to arrest people for Treason, Piracy and Slavery. Posse comitatus used to apply to federal agents. The original FBI agents did not carry guns, bet you did not know that.

Here’s a good question. Where will the tax police, agriculture police, border police, transportation police, park police, forest police, gun police, food and drug police, judges that do not follow the law etc. go to live if the USA breaks up? Not sure anyone would want them, tolerate having them, or trust them knowing their skill sets and training in these states that have seceded. Good question, huh.

How to catch a Fly

The art of fly catching was just brought to the attention of the American public by Obama's show of force in the Oval Office when he killed a fly during a news interview.

I have had a note on my desk for several months about doing an article on how to catch a fly, but have put it off as being too trivial. But now with all the attention and concern over the killing of bugs, I believe that it is time everyone found out how to properly catch a fly.

I have been catching flies most of my life and releasing them back into the outdoors. Not because I care about the fly but because I don't care for the mess they cause when you smash them. Even a fly swatter leaves that bloody mark on the wall!

My dad used to catch flies and use the larva for fish bait. He would place two buckets in the woods, one with scraps of fish remains, tilted at a 45 degree angle and the other up right under the lip of the tilted bucket. As the maggots would get their fill they would climb up the edge of the bucket and drop into the waiting container. Dad would then collect the fish bait, bag them and place them in the freezer for future use. He fished for a living for a while on a lake in Florida, and baited the fish lines with soap, maggots and anything else catfish loved to eat.

While in the service, I learned the art of catching flies. At first I caught them the hard way, out on maneuvers in Germany while breathing hard, I ran through a swarm of flies and inhaled a large number of them. I was coughing up flies for a long time. And then there was all the stories about flies leaving larva in peoples heads and causing sores, gross!

It is hard to believe the things that we become preoccupied with. I have always been impressed with the person who could nail a bug at ten feet with a knife or rubber band, but again there is always the mess to clean up or worse yet the hole in the wall to patch.

So Obama has the right ideal, but he needs to improve his technique in order to avoid upsetting Peta and getting blood on his hands.

What everyone needs to know about flies:

Flies always began their flight by taking off backwards. Knowing this fact makes it easy to catch or kill flies. Fly swatters should have this information printer on the instructions on how to use. If you approach the fly from the back and about two inches high, with your palm open then close your hand about one inch before reaching the fly, it will fly right into your fist every time. You may wonder if you have him, but don't be tempted to look until you are ready to release him.

I have impressed many with my art of catching flies and they never believe that you have actually caught it until you open your hand and it flies off.

To kill a fly, approach the fly with the swatter from the back and you will get him every time

The Hypocrisy Surrounding Nuclear Weapons

The UN Security Council has today announced that it has voted unanimously to impose new sanctions on North Korea which, in addition to tighter bans on arms exports and greater powers to inspect North Korean ships, include ‘financial measures’ (at this point, however, the type of financial measures are not clear). These developments are a reaction to North Korea’s nuclear tests last month which have led to the excoriation of its actions around the globe.

It is strange, however, that the hypocrisy of the UN Security Council is largely ignored by the mainstream media. Every permanent member of the Security Council boasts huge stockpiles of thermonuclear weapons. Moreover, one member of the Security Council is, hitherto, the only country on the planet to use a nuclear weapon. Indeed, the USA has not only used nuclear weapons, it has also given hundreds of nuclear weapons to its close ally, Israel; the latter being a country which does not admit to owning nuclear warheads and, therefore, also refuses to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

What is good enough for the US and its allies is, it would seem, not good enough for states that are deemed as the ‘undesirables’. The UK, another Security Council member, is also condemning North Korea for its nuclear ambitions despite the UK government’s renewal of its Trident nuclear missile system which could, by some estimates, costs as much as £76bn.

How, then, can such countries condemn the actions of North Korea? Both India and Pakistan have developed their nuclear arsenals and, as a result, both have experienced greater economic and political engagement with the worlds’ superpower, the USA. This is the problem with nuclear weapons: to own them elevates a country into an exclusive club whereby the benefits greatly outweigh the drawbacks of developing nuclear weapons. Moreover, the greater polarisation of North Korea will no doubt further galvanise its desire to develop its own arsenal of nuclear weapons given that its one-time nuclear ally, China, is now condemning North Korea’s desire to develop its nuclear capability.

One argument for this global condemnation is that countries which currently own nuclear weapons act ‘responsibly’ and that other ‘rogue’ states, such as North Korea or Iran, do not and, therefore, simply cannot be trusted. This, however, is not necessarily true: since the Second World War, the USA has been involved in more wars than any other country and, together with the UK, is currently involved in two armed conflicts: Afghanistan and Iraq. The former, of course, is a war that was built on a pack of lies: that Iraq owned weapons of mass destruction which could be launched in under 45 minutes. Not only did no WMDs exist in Iraq, but the greatest irony of all is that if Iraq did own nuclear weapons then neither the US nor the UK would have invaded the country in the first place.

And what of the sanctions which are to be imposed? History tells us that these sanctions do little to punish a respective regime but, instead, have deleterious effects on the most vulnerable people of a given society, namely its poorest citizens. Therefore, these sanctions seem to be symbolic rather than an effective measure to curb North Korea’s nuclear ambitions.

So, what is the solution? The obvious answer would be to dismantle all nuclear weapons. This, however, is unlikely to happen and would leave security analysts delirious with regards to the ‘security vacuum’ that may arise if the world’s strongest states lost their nuclear capabilities. Nonetheless, the solution must lie with a decrease in the overall numbers of nuclear weapons which, unfortunately, is not occurring: the worlds’ nuclear powers have largely failed to deliver on promises to reduce their nuclear arsenals. This is hardly a strong platform in which to ask other states to ditch their nuclear ambitions.

Greater cooperation between nuclear states and those hoping to join the Nuclear Club would also be a more propitious path than an increase in bellicosity which leads to greater distrust and, as a result, stimulates an even greater desire for the non-nuclear state to develop a nuclear warhead. And while the main hypocrisy still exists, i.e. that nuclear armed states continue to threaten non-nuclear armed states regarding the latter’s nuclear ambitions, the chances of dissuading a regime to renege on its commitment to develop a nuclear warhead appear very slim indeed.

Proof That Osama Bin Laden is Dead

I was surfing the net the other day and came across a link leading me to a You Tube clip of an interview with Pakistan's former prime minister and opposition leader Benazir Bhutto.

Heading up the populist Pakistan People's Party, Bhutto was a leading contender in the country's general election, before she was gunned down a few weeks ago.

In this You Tube clip from a November 3 Al Jazeera interview with British television presenter Sir David Frost, Bhutto discusses who she thought was responsible for the prior assassination attempt on her life.

The shocking part is when I heard Bhutto make reference to the people who assassinated Osama Bin Laden.

Stop the tape! What did I just hear? I backed up the tape and at the 6 minuet and 15 second mark she does in fact say that Osama Bin Laden has been assassinated. I had to play it a few times to let it sink in.

She says it with a straight face and Frost doesn’t call her on it. What the h**l is going on?

My guess is that Bin Laden is indeed dead and this administration is keeping it a secret. Why would they do that?

Maybe because someone killed Bin Laden and the Government doesn’t have enough proof and releasing the information would be more trouble then its worth... Who knows. I do suppose that it would be an easy affair to hide Bin Ladens death from the public.

Russian Parliamentary (duma) Elections: Keep your Snotty Noses Out!

That's what Putin said to all Western leaders and media, who have publicized the well known lavish preferences "United Russia" had during the campaign, the pressure on all Russian big business, the vote-rigging... And that's exactly what the Western world did! The West no longer dares to poke the nose in the Russian domestic affairs and, increasingly, in Russia's foreign policy. Europe's main observer body boycotted the polls! Great idea! Some 300 unknown observers "looked over" the elections instead... (Just for reference, Russia has a population of 130 million spanning over 11 time zones). "Early reports from Russia include allegations of election-day violations. We urge Russian authorities to investigate these claims," said Gordon Johndroe, a spokesman for White House national security council. OK! What ya gonna do about it, hah? Putin's team IS the "Russian authorities"! This statement is just another demonstration that U.S. foreign policy continues to seriously lack understanding of what's going on outside of the U.S. national borders!

Putin's power team won by a landslide - as expected by the vast majority of the Russian people, who associates Putin with the improved quality of life, which has become obvious for everybody in Russia and all those, who have visited it in the last 4-5 years. Who cares that the improvement is being paid for by the flourishing Russian commodity exports? Who cares how much this and the upcoming presidential campaign cost? The voting Russians have been trained for the political apathy by the Communist rule, the hick up years that followed, the "prihvatization times" (Russian expression combining "privatization" and "to grab (equity)"). Russian people just want to have a life! And life is better now!

What does the United Russia's victory mean for business? Stability! Financial markets have rejoiced at the resounding win by the Putin's power team, and ...remained quiet. Business has already factored the election results into their strategies and tactics! Business feels better and investors will keep on crowding as the Russia Trading System index continues to far outpace most stock indices in the world.

Despite all the kicks and giggles of the Western leadership, media, and pro-Western movements in Russia itself, nothing can stop Putin's power team for many years to come. Whether you like it or not! Boycotting elections, irrelevant jokes from Washington are laughable! The change of power in Russia is not expected until after all commodity prices are back down (thanks to alternative energy sources and technology advances); Putin's buddies have enjoyed a few years of sheik-like life, nationalized companies have been robbed of cash, innovation and sane management, and oligarch's children wasted the better parts of their parents' fortunes. What ya gonna do about it? Hah?

A New Set Up in Pakistan

We the people of the world congratulate the people of Pakistan that they get a new turn and they are out of military rule and they shall be establishing a new democracy within the next few days. The people of Pakistan are great that they could pave way for the establishment of democracy to which they are committed and the first commitment had been made by the person who established Pakistan. The man who is elected as President of Pakistan, though from the army shall not be having the same powers which he had been having while serving as the army chief. He shall have to act upon the advice of ministers and not of his own as he had been acting while serving as army chief and as chief of the country. The new army chief shall learn a lesson from history and he would not follow the same rout which the pervious chief had been following. We, the people of the world believe that the new chief of army shall be taking into consideration the spirit of the people of Pakistan and shall allow them to establish a good civil government in the country and they shall not create such situations where army is bound to take over the administration of the country.

Within a few days Pakistan shall be having a civilian government and we hope we shall be solving so many problems which are standing in better relations between India and Pakistan. We shall be solving Kashmir problems, we shall be solving the problems of terrorists which are being sent from the side of Pakistan and who are getting shelter and all other facilities in India and with these helps they are spreading throughout in India and they are creating troubles for the people of India and they are disturbing peace in this sub continent. We hope that the people of India and Pakistan shall forget the past and they shall start with new pledges and they shall sign some permanent peace treaty for fifty years banning war between the two countries either in a direct way or in an indirect way. The present terrorist war is an indirect war which Pakistan had initiated just to take revenge of its defeats in direct wars. We hope that the people of Pakistan shall understand that what had happened, should be things of the past and we should go ahead and should not try to correct the history what has been established.

It is not possible that India and Pakistan should join together and should annul the partition of 1947 because that was the most unfortunate event in history of this sub continent in which lakhs of people were killed and crore of people had to migrate to unknown places. Pakistan knows that most of the Muslims did not migrate to Pakistan and that is the reason most of the families had been divided. They must be allowed to join and when we had been living together and when we had been fighting war of independence jointly, there was no fun of partition. that mistake was committed by some interested people and that even had been the worst in history of this mankind. If the two parliaments pass resolutions of joining together, that would be the best event in the history. We the people of the world want that these two countries must join and if they join, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka may also follow suit. There is no fund in having small countries because a new type of imperialism is taking its birth and if it is allowed to come up then most of the small countries shall be under this new imperial government and only big and powerful countries shall be able to keep themselves as independent of this new imperialism. The people of India and the people of Pakistan know this fact and they are ready to fight this new imperialism.

If a civilian government is established in Pakistan, that shall pave way for permanent peace in this sub continent because we cannot expect such peace from army rulers. We hope the new army chief of Pakistan shall keep in mind permanent peace in this sub continent and the people of Pakistan shall be solving their problems through an elected government.

The Miracle in the Defense System

defense is an issue that has to be given top priority by a country for the continuance of its existence. Nations have always to watch out for all kinds of internal and external threats, assaults, risks of wars and terrorist actions. This is why they allocate a great part of their official budgets to defense. Armies are provided with the most advanced aircraft, ships, and arms, and the forces of defense are always kept at the highest level of preparedness.

The human body is surrounded by a great number of enemies and threats. These enemies are bacteria, viruses, and similar microscopic organisms. They exist everywhere; in the air we inhale, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the environment in which we live.

What most people are not aware of is that the human body has an excellent army, the immune system, which fights against enemies. This is a real army made up of many "soldiers" and "officials" with different assignments, who are specially trained, employ high technology and fight with conventional and chemical weapons.

Every day, even every minute, a permanent war is fought between this army and the enemy forces, but away from our knowledge. This war can also be in the form of minor, local skirmishes as well as battles in which the whole body is involved and alarmed. We call these battles "diseases".

The general conduct of this war almost never changes. The enemy attempts to fool the other side by camouflaging itself when intruding into the body. The trained investigative forces are assigned by the defense to identify the enemies. The enemies are identified and appropriate weapons are produced to exterminate them. Then there is close contact, the defeat of the enemy, cease-fire, and clearance of the battleground. Last, there is storage of every type of information about the enemy as a precaution against the possibility of a later attack....

Now let us examine this interesting war closer.

THE BESIEGED CASTLE: THE HUMAN BODY

We can liken the human body to a castle besieged by enemies. The enemies look for various ways to invade this castle. The human skin is the wall of this castle.

The substance of keratin in the cells of the skin is an impassable barrier for bacteria and fungi. Foreign substances that reach the skin cannot pass through this wall. Moreover, although the outer layer of skin that contains keratin is continuously rubbed off, it is renewed by skin growing from beneath. Thus, all unwanted guests that have squeezed between the skin are ejected from the body together with dead skin, during renewal of the skin from inwards to outwards. The enemy can only make its way in through a wound that is inflicted on the skin.

THE FRONT LINE

One of the ways through which viruses enter the body is air. The enemy pushes its way to the body through the air inhaled. However, a special secretion in the nasal mucous membrane and cell-swallowing defense elements in the lungs (phagocytes) meet these enemies and take control of the situation before the danger grows. Digestive enzymes in the stomach acid and small intestine eliminate a great number of the microbes that seek to enter the body through food.

THE CLASH OF THE ENEMIES

There are some microbes that have settled in various parts of the human body (such as skin, skin folds, mouth, nose, eye, upper respiratory canals, digestive canal, the genitals) yet do not cause illness.

When a foreign microbe enters the body, these domestic microbes - thinking that their habitation would be invaded- and not wishing to give way to the foreigners who invade their habitation - fight strenuously. We can define them as professional soldiers. They try to protect their territory for their own ends. Thus, the complex army in our body is reinforced by these micro supports.

STEP BY STEP TO HOT WAR

If a microscopic intruder entering the body can overcome defense elements on guard and bacteria serving as soldiers, it causes war to begin with. After that, the body, with its ordered army, fights a perfect offence-defense war against this foreign army.

The war fought by the defense system is comprised of four parts:

1. Identification of the enemy.

2. The fortification of defenses and the preparation of offensive weapons.

3. Attack and battle.

4. Retreat to normal state.

The cells that first meet the enemy units are macrophage cells that make "phagocytosis", i.e., that engulf the enemy. These cells are involved in close contact with the enemy, and fight a hand-to-hand war. They are just like infantrymen who fight a bayonet war against enemy units and struggle at the distant front line of the army.

Moreover, macrophages function as intelligence units, or as the secret service of an army. They hold one portion of the enemy they destroy. This portion is used to identify the enemy’s identity and to determine its features. Macrophages pass this portion to another intelligence unit, messenger-T cells.

GENERAL ALARM

When a country is involved in war, a general mobilisation is declared. Most of the natural resources and the budget are spent on war expenses. The economy is re-arranged according to this extraordinary situation and the country is involved in total action. In a war, which the defensive army of the body will fight as a whole, mobilisation is also declared. Do you wonder how?

If the enemy is more than they can handle, the cavalcades (macrophages) that launch an attack secrete a special substance. The name of this substance is "pyrogen" and it is a kind of alarm call. After travelling a long way, "pyrogen" reaches the brain and stimulates the fever-increasing centre of the brain. Following this stimulation, the brain sets off alarms in the body and the person develops a high fever. The patient with a high fever naturally feels a need to rest. Thus, the energy needed by the defense army is not spent elsewhere. As seen, there exists an extremely complex plan and design at work.

THE ORDERED ARMY SWINGS INTO ACTION

The war between the microscopic intruder and the immune system becomes more complicated after mobilisation, that is, your falling ill in bed. At this stage, infantrymen (phagocytes) and cavalrymen (macrophages) have proved insufficient, the whole body is alarmed, and the war becomes heated. At this stage, lymphocytes - (T and B cells) - intervene.

Cavalrymen (macrophages) pass the information they have on the enemy to T helper cells. These cells summon T cytotoxic and B cells to the battleground. These are the most effective fighters of the immune system.

WEAPONRY PRODUCTION

As soon as B cells receive information about the enemy, they start producing weapons. These weapons, just like ballistic missiles, are only produced to hit the enemy on whom information is available. This production is so perfect that the three dimensional structure of the microscopic intruder and the three dimensional structure of the weapon fully match each other. This accord is like that between a key and its lock.

Antibodies advance towards the enemy and clamp tightly on it. After this stage, the enemy is neutralised like a tank that has its treads, cannon and gun destroyed. Afterwards, other members of the immune system come and eliminate the neutralised enemy.

Here, there is a very important point to consider: there are millions of types of enemy that the immune system will confront. B cells can produce an appropriate weapon for all types of enemy no matter what they are. This means that the immune system innately has the knowledge and capability to produce the keys appropriate to millions of different types of locks. These unconscious cells have the ability to make millions of types of antibodies, and their using it in the best way proves the existence of a creation by the Owner of an exalted power.

Furthermore, the system is more sophisticated. As B cells destroy the enemy with ballistic weapons, T cytotoxic cells also fight a tough war against the enemy. When some viruses enter a cell, they can hide from the weapons produced by the B cells. The T cytotoxic cells find the diseased cells in which this camouflaged enemy hides and destroy them.

AFTER THE VICTORY

After the enemy is defeated, the T suppressor cells swing into action. These cells give the army of defense the command to cease fire, and cause the T cytotoxic and B cells to stop their activities. Thus, the body does not carry on in a state of mobilisation in vain. After the war is over, most of the T and B cells produced specifically for the war complete their lifecycle and die. This tough war, however, is not to be forgotten. Before the war, a short time passed while the enemy was identified and the necessary preparations made. If the enemy ever comes back, the body will be much better prepared. A group of memory cells, which have come to know the features of the enemy, will constantly serve in the immune system in future. In a possible second attack, the immune system, with the information in the memory cells, will have the means to react before the enemy gains force. The reason why we do not catch mumps or measles again, after we have once caught them, is because of the memory of our immune system.

WHO IS HE WHO CREATES THE SYSTEM?

After all the information we have examined, we have to take our time and think about how this perfect immune system to which we owe our lives has come to exist. There is a flawless plan at work. Everything needed for the operation of this plan is intact: macrophages, the pyrogen substance, the fever raising centre of the brain, the body’s fever raising mechanisms, B cells, T cells, weapons... How, then, has this perfect system come into being?

Not surprisingly, the theory of evolution, which proposes that living beings have come into being by coincidence, cannot explain how this complex system came about. The claim of the theory of evolution is that living beings and living systems have originated step-by-step by the accumulation of little coincidences. However, the immune system cannot by any means have originated "step-by-step". The reason is that in the case of the absence or malfunction of even one of the factors that make up the system, the system cannot work and the person could not survive. The system must have come into being completely and flawlessly with all its components intact. This reality renders the notion of "coincidence" meaningless.

Who, then, makes this plan? Who knows that the body’s fever must rise, and that only that way the energy needed by the army of defense will not be spent elsewhere? Is it the macrophages? Macrophages are merely tiny cells. They do not have the capacity to think. They are living organisms that obey an established superior order and that fulfil their duties.

Is it man? Certainly not. People are not even aware that such a perfect system is at work in their own bodies. However, this system, of which we are unaware, protects us from certain death.

It is obvious that the one who created the immune system, and who created the whole human body, should be a Creator Who has exalted knowledge and might. This Creator is Allah, Who has created the human body from a "drop of fluid".

Lt. Michael P. Murphy

The Congressional Medal of Honor is perhaps the single most fitting tribute to our heroes of war. Having special significance among Navy SEALs this Medal of Honor serves to pay homage to all war veterans. One such leading man killed during Operation Redwing was Lt. Michael P. Murphy.

That fated day

It was during a special operation conducted in Afghanistan that Lt. Michael P. Murphy was killed during his Navy SEAL mission. He was leading a SEAL team comprising 4 members and it was on June 28th in the year 2005 that “Murph” or Murphy breathed his last. The team of 4 members comprised of the following members: Matthew G Axeson, Marcus Luttrell, Danny P. Dietz and Lt. Michael P. Murphy.

The task at hand

The task of the 4 member SEAL team was to try and locate an important and strategic leader of the Taliban. They were on their Navy SEAL operation located at a strategic tactical location when they encountered heavy enemy firing. This 4 man team bore the brunt of the firing without submitting to them or giving up. In addition to the heavy enemy firing a heavy grenade propelled by a rocket was hurled at the team. All died except Hospital Corpsman Second Class Marcus Luttrell. Soon after the grenade exploded all the team members were hurled into a ravine while being thrown over a massive ledge.

The killing rampage

Soon after the grenade was exploded, a rescue helicopter was immediately dispatched to the site to help save any survivors. However even the plane which had over 16 rescue members were all shot down with a rocket fire. All people on board were instantly killed. This massive killing spree caused one of the biggest and most devastating losses of life in the Navy SEALs mission Operation Enduring Freedom.

Risking his life

Lt. Michael P. Murphy was already in a very bad state, having suffered severe injuries on account of the grenade explosion. However, in spite of all his injuries he decided to touch base and establish a comms signal with the SEAL base. He advanced into the open ground, not caring for his life and also testing his level of Navy SEALs fitness in the process. He was instantly targeted with numerous fire shots by the enemy and in spite of heavy bleeding he managed to relay his position and ask for instant fire support from the SEAL base.

The recognition

It was on the day of October 11th in the year 2007 that the Whitehouse announced the posthumous award of Congressional Medal of Honor to Lt. Michael P. Murphy. The courage that Lt. Michael P. Murphy showed coupled with his immense bravery and presence of mind even during such a strenuous Navy SEALs mission just goes to show the kind of dedication this Lieutenant had for our country.
